Classes

Baby Massage & Yoga

Baby massage & yoga classes developed from my own experiences in motherhood. The classes are designed to offer parents/carers the opportunity to spend time in a calm, nurturing environment with their little ones. Providing a chance to talk to other parents, relax, unwind and support your baby in their physical, emotional and cognitive development. Parenting is hard and these classes are here to help parents and babies navigate this wonderfully, yet sometimes challenging period.

Things you should know about me...

I have two daughters & a son, two dogs, two bunnies and one very understanding husband! When I am not busy trying to juggle that chaos,  I enjoy being outdoors, going to the gym when I get the chance, reading fiction, philosophy and anatomy books and of course doing yoga!

My background is in teaching and education, on completing my Bsc in Psychology and Social Anthropology I spent a number of years working in residential care and family support roles. I returned to university and completed P.G.C.E in Primary Education before starting a career as a Primary Teacher, working in EYFS, Year 3 & Year 6. Since leaving my teaching role I have continued with my personal and professional development and  have completed 200 hrs YTT, 60 hrs Pre/post-natal Yoga training, Cosmic Kids Yoga Training, Baby Massage Diploma and have just enrolled in Wildflower Training to further continue with my learning.

I started practising yoga over 10 years ago, but it wasn’t until I had my children that yoga became a regular part of my week. A few years ago, due to high levels of stress, I made the decision to leave my job in teaching and I have not looked back since. I have learnt a lot about myself in the last few years, taking on new and exciting challenges, continually developing and learning. I am keen to share all I have learnt about yoga with anyone and everyone who will listen and am excited to be delivering fun, and dynamic classes, making yoga accessible to everybody.

Julie Keen

I have been practising and teaching yoga for over 17 years, having taught two classes a week at a local gym for the last 15 years. I started yoga after suffering from a back injury  early in adulthood. I had reached a point where I was in constant pain and my mobility and quality of life was significantly affected. I had the option of risky surgery, however, decided to try a holistic approach, which led to the start of my yoga journey. Luckily yoga has helped me to manage my injury and pain, allowing me a level of mobility and flexibility that I didn't think would be possible. After feeling the benefits of yoga myself, I wanted to be able to help others, supporting their health and wellness. Since beginning my own yoga journey I have completed 500 hr YTT (IYN), reiki healing, Swedish, Indian Head & Sports massage qualifications and most recently my 50 hr Yin Yoga TT with Zen Shed, Worcester.

My husband and I enjoy travel and being outdoors, spending time walking our 2 dogs. We have experienced some wonderful expeditions to the Himalayas and closer to home enjoy family holidays to Tenby and the Yorkshire Dales. I enjoy reading and am particularly interested in philosophy, as well as being a fantastic knitter of woolly hats and kids cardigans!! I am currently kept very busy helping to 'look after'my two grown up girls and my 5 grandchildren!
